For the love….

Posted on
For the romantics Im avoiding the crass and commercial and pointing at a book with  a perfectly appropriate  – for me –  title!   It’s a beautifully presented book with a lovely ribbon page holder and wonderful photographs both of which are enough for me to be happy before I even get to the content.
It is a “celebration of old things passed down and collected from family heirlooms to flea market treasures – along with personal recipes and anecdotes on how to care for and save things a little past their prime”  It may be a coffee table book but I don’t see that as a bad thing,  maybe I have too much affinity to  “Chipped, Frayed, Tarnished, Faded, Tattered, Worn and Weathered Things”, go find a copy and decide for yourself!
“For the Love of the Old” written and photographed by Mary Randolph Carter,  book image and quote Copyright the author and Rizzoli International Publications.

About aalid

Book loving, craft obsessed, retro, library working, slightly geeky female. Probably old enough to know better but refusing to learn, persistantly looking for the aesthetically pleasing in life to cheer up my apparently miserable face! The Mage and Raven is my bookshop - it doesnt exist - except for inside my brain.

  1. I have to admit to a guilty predilection for coffee table books too, for the sheer visual pleasure they can provide. This one looks interesting, perhaps channeling a kind of ‘American wabi’? 🙂
